How Sugar is Poisoning Your Cells

AGE AND SUGAR ARE THE MAJOR CAUSES OF INFLAMMATION!

Inflammation is the a root cause of almost all accelerated aging diseases.
As we get older, we probably have a gradual accumulation of toxins that are part and parcel of our environment, and certainly seem to be present in just about all of us.  So, the toxins build up; we have more inflammation, more free radical production, and less ability of our body to fight these inflammatory and free radical challenges.

So, toxins are really an important part.

At the same time, even emotional stress will actually increase inflammation in our body and increase free radical production.

Any kind of stress - whether it's emotional or physical - will create inflammation if it's overdone.
The Sugar Effect

The way that we eat - eating too many high carbohydrate, refined carbohydrate or sugary foods - seems to be a pro-inflammatory diet.
And this is very, very challenging for a big part of our society.
Sugar never used to be a big part of our diets.
But it has become more and more common as time has gone on.
We are now eating huge amounts of sugar and refined carbs that were never part of our ancestral diet.
The media is starting to talk more and more about sugar and how it is toxic in the body.
However, researchers and doctors have been warning us for many years that processed
carbohydrates and sugar are literally poisoning us and creating problems at the cellular level.

SUPPLEMENTING YOUR DIET

When you are looking for supplementation in your diet, you want something that fits the criteria we have covered:
  • It should deal with this inflammation and oxidative stress that seems to be so universal and so problematic.
  • It should not have side effects; it should be well tolerated and it should address some of the deficiencies that almost all of us are suffering from.  Marine‐D3 was created to address things in a much more global way and to benefit a very wide proportion of people. So we’ll look in more detail at the specific components of Marine‐D3.
Vitamin D3
Vitamin D3 is the preferred form of Vitamin D.

Unless you’re living in the tropics and actually spending time outdoors, almost everybody is Vitamin D deficient.

One study on people in Hawaii showed 50% of them were Vitamin D deficient.
You can’t live in a better sunlight area than Hawaii but most of the people worked indoors during the day so were just not exposed to the sun.
As we get older, we tend not to make Vitamin D as much during our sun exposure.  So our experience is that almost everybody, unless they are taking Vitamin D supplementation, is Vitamin D deficient.

CALCIUM

We’ve always known about Vitamin D’s importance in the manufacture of bones. The important thing about that is it also helps in the absorption of calcium.
There has probably been an overdoing of concern about calcium. If we really attended to our Vitamin D needs, the calcium in the average diet would be comfortably absorbed, easily enough to satisfy all of our calcium needs.
More importantly, Vitamin D helps direct the calcium to go in the right place.
Instead of going into the soft tissues or vessels, it helps it direct it to go into the bones.
So, Vitamin D is crucial for that.

Omega 3
The second thing we were looking for in the ideal supplementation was a source of long chain Omega 3s.
Omega 3 oil has been shown in lots of studies to be very important as an anti-inflammatory, as an anti-arrhythmic for cardiovascular disease.
It seems to lower triglycerides in some patients, and improve cardiovascular lipid profiles.  So it has a lot of potential benefits.
Obviously, we are so passionate about Omega-3's, especially the DHA/EPA research and how Calamarine,
a derivative of Squid, is our preferred form of DHA/EPA because it has the perfect structure that fits the body,
brain, eyes, heart, and helps at the cellular level.

Seanol-P - our super-anti-oxidant!
The last, but certainly not least element of Marine-D3 is seanol.
This is going to become more and more famous as time goes on.
Many of us have heard about the polyphenol resveratrol, which is present in red wine.  People are talking about it as being anti-aging - that it turns on anti-aging genes and longevity genes.
However, the fact is that resveratrol is found in wine in just tiny, tiny amounts.
And the half-life of this resveratrol, which is water-soluble, is very short so it's only present in the body for a short period of time.
It can therefore only give us benefits for a very short period of time.
In order to really make it effective, you would have to take resveratrol every hour or so throughout the day.
The good news is that seanol has properties very similar to resveratrol but its fat-soluble.
Therefore it actually goes into the fat tissues of the body and stays there and has a half-life that's much, much longer than resveratrol.
It stays in the body for much longer and it can be taken twice a day without any problem and you have the benefit of its effectiveness all day.
In fact, Marine-D3 uses seanol-p - which is a much higher potency version of seanol.
That means it uses fewer milligrams but still has maximum potency.
The combination of the key components of Marine-D3 deals with exactly the issues we've covered - inflammation, oxidative stress and all of the potential diseases that these problems cause.
They can potentially, at least, be prevented by effectively dealing with the underlying causes - the underlying inflammation and oxidative stress.
